Employment Opportunities

Air Sciences Inc., from time to time, posts descriptions for open positions for which we are currently seeking applications. Even if no positions are currently listed, we invite degreed scientists and engineers with technical air quality or related experience to submit resumes.

Physical Scientist / Full Stack Developer

Portland, Oregon

Air Sciences is seeking a physical scientist or engineer with experience and strong interest in full stack database and web development.  The successful candidate will be able to apply their physical science background to a range of research and analytical projects on topics of air quality and additionally support and enhance existing full stack systems used internally and by our clients.

Preferred skills include experience with Linux-based development environments and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL (including PL/pgSQL, PL/v8, PostGIS). Candidates should have experience or exhibit strong interest in front end development with emphasis on data presentation and usability (HTML, CSS/LESS/SASS, JavaScript, CoffeeScript, D3.js). Knowledge of one or more server-side languages (PHP, Python, Node.js, etc.) and mobile development, including Apple iOS Swift are desired.

Responsibilities will include contributing to research and analytical science projects including environmental data processing and analyses, working on web development projects with our existing team, and building a working understanding of several existing project codebases. To succeed in this role, applicants should be able to implement quality control and testing for work completed and improve technology and solutions on existing systems.

We are seeking a person with superior technical skills who accepts and meets challenges in growing professionally, can handle responsibility, and excels in working in a team environment.

“Wow, that’s way better than what we were asking for…. It’s really hard to condense the degree to which you ‘get it’ and can apply it into a sentence or two.”
